Last week, we got a more in-depth tour and story about Lucky’s Market in Clintonville. Lucky’s is close to where we live, so it’s always been a favorite stop to get local meat and produce, but I love the store so much more now that I know more about their mission and goals. This week is their Local Vendor Fair. Tuesday, June 6th from 4-7pm. 10% of all proceeds will go to Urban Farms of Central Ohio. RSVP here!
Lucky’s Goals:
- Good food, accessible to as many people as possible.
- Be welcoming and focus on wellness- want for people to feel comfortable, regardless of their grocery budget or stance on conventional growing practices
- Giving back:
- Buy Lucky’s brands- 10% of profits from the sale of Lucky’s store brand items goes to local charities
- Bring your own bag- When you bring your own reusable grocery bag, Lucky’s gives you 10 cents to donate to one of three local charities and the charities rotate regularly. Currently, you can choose Children’s Hunger Alliance, CMN Memorial Garden, or Choices.
